COLUMN: MEDICAL MEMOS Orchard Hills Athletic Club of Lancaster held its second annual Day of Hope in March, raising $9,105 for the Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center. The event began 14 years ago as the club's Spin for Hope, with participants cycling to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Over the years it has grown to include more than 250 participants. Tim Richards, former owner and CEO of Orchard Hills Athletic Club, was a driving force behind the success of this fundraising effort. Mr. Richards passed away in January. Cindy Curley, general manager at Orchard Hills, stated, "It was a great day for us and it was a privilege. Tim's mission was always one of helping the community and we intend to continue it." The event has grown over the years to include Aqua Fitness, Yoga, Body Pump, Body Attack, Body Vive and Zumba classes, along with 3 on 3 Basketball.
